The project digital art conservation aims firstly to document and catalogue the collections of digital art in the region of the Upper Rhine Valley and secondly to make a contribution to the international discussions around the conservation of digital art. This contribution will be based on the long-standing engagement of the partners with the conservation and presentation of computer-based new media art. The project will run from January 2010 to December 2012 and is co-financed by the European Union’s INTERREG IV Upper Rhine programme.
The project will comprise the following activities:

Two international symposia

ZKM, Karlsruhe, 4 and 5 November 2010
ESAD, Strasbourg, autumn 2011

Conservation case studies
September 2010 – August 2011

Workshops at the Ecole supérieure des arts décoratifs, Strasbourg
and the Hochschule der Künste Bern

Throughout the duration of the project
